First printing pics, as promised :)

Here are some photos of my first printing at home efforts.

The photo to the right, was my first try. I chose a very simple design to do at first to test out the method. I used Mod Podge gloss sealer (which I bought from Hobbycraft), a small piece of plain voile secured in an embroidery hoop and Setacolor opaque ink in Cherry 50 (also from Hobbycraft). This was really quick to do and looks pretty good too!

This pic, to the left, was my next attempt. This time I tried using organza instead to see if it made any difference (I'm not sure it did really) and instead of hooping the design in an embroidery hoop, I stapled the fabric into an old picture frame. This time I used Setacolor opaque in Shimmer Wine 66. This is a really nice deep purple with a bit of sparkle!
These clolours are really easy to use as all you need to do to set them is iron, they are then machine washable up to 40 degrees!

Hey, everyone!
Here is my brand new blog! I'm so tired after taking forever to set it up I don't think I can actually think of anything particularly remarkable to say now!
The kids are still off school for half term, so I haven't had a great deal of time to do any actual crafty business, but I have loads of ideas running through my mind ;)
I have decided I am going to customize my kids clothes for summer. I will use some jeans that are now to small for my youngest daughter and turn them into some cute turn up shorts with some funky appliques and diamantes. I will upload some piccies when I get round to doing it.
I have been having a play with some home-made 'screen printing'.
I would love to have the real deal screen printing equipment, but it's unfortunatly way out of my budget! But it is possible to have some fun with fabric printing at home. Here is one way of doing it, as told by craftgirl.....http://community.livejournal.com/craftgrrl/3674467.html
I did this but by stretching and stapling some organza/voile onto an old picture frame. I printed some cool 'PUNK' t-shirts, and quite an intricate damask print onto some pillowcases (which I am particularly proud of)
Pics to follow :)
